Methodology summary. Lawsuit-volume data comes from ADA Title III and Unruh Civil Rights Act filings aggregated by defense-side law firms and industry monitors (primarily Seyfarth Shaw ADA Title III News and UsableNet's Year-End Digital Accessibility Lawsuit Reports). Statutory dollar figures come directly from the California Civil Code. Compliance-failure rates come from the WebAIM Million study. Consumer behavior figures come from cited consumer research firms. We have reviewed and archived the underlying reports for every citation on this page.
